What the independent CI investment buys

A delivery path outside GitHub Actions

Runnable owns workflow scheduling, execution, logs, retries, and runner capacity. Once a commit and event reach Runnable, the GitHub Actions control plane is not in that path. Your workflow syntax stays familiar; the system responsible for delivering it is separate.

A CI data boundary you can explain

Every job starts on a clean, single-use Linux machine with job-scoped credentials and masked logs. Runnable never uses source, diffs, workflows, logs, artifacts, secrets, or support attachments to train or improve AI models. The same commitment applies on every plan, with no opt-out required.

Growth without a developer tax

Runnable meters normalized compute and includes unlimited developers on every plan. Add engineers without adding CI seats, then set a hard monthly spend cap or stop at the included allowance. Spend grows when the team runs more work or needs more throughput—not when someone gets access.

The cost of independence when GitHub Team stays

This is the conservative migration case: the organization keeps paying for GitHub Team, so seats are excluded from both columns. When GitHub Actions is the better choice

Price is not one number. These are the cases where GitHub's bundle or runtime is the stronger answer.

GitHub Free organizations. They support unlimited collaborators, include 2,000 private-repository Actions minutes, and can be cheaper for low-volume CI.

Standard GitHub-hosted runners for public repositories. They are free and unlimited.
